TD Park People Grants

The Friends of Cedarbrook & Thomson Memorial Parks are grateful recipients of a TD Park People grant. This has made it possible to host three of our park events in 2019:

  • Jane’s Ride to Scarborough’s First Nations History via Thomson Memorial Park (May 4, 2019)
  • Family Movie Night in Cedarbrook Park (August 15, 2019)
  • Pumpkin Parade in Cedarbrook Park on November 1, 2019 beginning at 5:30 PM. This was preceded by a Community Pumpkin Carving event, October 26, 2019.

TD Park People Grants Program: The TD Park People Grants is a providing essential funding to support park groups in delivering 225 awesome park-based events in cities across Canada. Together, TD and Park People are helping to bring Canadians together in parks because they know that when awesome things happen in our parks people are happier, communities are more connected and cities thrive.

Park People: Park People supports and mobilizes people to help them activate the power of parks to improve the quality of life in cities across Canada.

TD Bank: TD is providing funding to these events as part of The Ready Commitment. TD has a long-standing commitment to enriching the lives of its customers, colleagues and communities. That’s why TD launched The Ready Commitment in March 2018, a new multi-year program to help individuals and communities prosper. As part of The Ready Commitment, TD targets CDN $1 billion in total by 2030 towards community giving in four areas critical to opening doors for an inclusive tomorrow — Financial Security, a more Vibrant Planet, Connected Communities and Better Health. Through The Ready Commitment, TD’s aspiration is to link business, products, services, and community giving to help people feel more confident – not just about their finances, but about their future and their ability to achieve their personal goals in a changing world.
